What is a personal phone number?

Personal numbers more expensive to call than 08 numbers, so they are more suitable for contacting individuals than for sales use. However they make great 'field support' numbers for staff who are 'on call'. Personal phone numbers are free to setup and include a huge amount of free call forwarding, making them perfect personal contact numbers.

The same personal number can follow you to anywhere in the UK - you never need to change your contact number even if you change mobile networks etc. This is a huge saving on re-printing headed paper and business cards, also ensuring no orders will be missed during the move.

What are the business benefits?

  • Does the 0700 number replace my existing number?
    No. Your existing mobile or landline number will be retained - both numbers can work at the same time. That means if someone is not aware of your new marketing number and still calling you on your existing number, the call will still get through to you.

    How do personal phone numbers work?
    You choose your new number, and this number is 'pointed' or 're-directed' to one of your existing 'target' telephone numbers. Your existing number will work as it always has, you simply now have two numbers that ring the same line.

    Are the personal numbers registered to me?
    Yes, All personal telephone numbers are registered in your name. The number will stay with you for as long as you want to use it.

    How much do callers pay to ring an 0700 number?
    Callers will be charged K rate (37.5p/25p/12.5p/min. Day/Night/Weekend incl. VAT)  (Mobiles may vary between mobile phone operators).

    Can I have more than one personal number?
    Yes, you can have as many personal phone numbers as you require.

    I am an individual, or sole trader can I have a personal number?
    Yes, Many individuals and sole traders use personal numbers to keep in touch wherever they may be and also to prevent giving out their home number.

    Can I choose which personal phone number I have?
    Yes, of course! When you enter the ordering page you will be presented with our current list of personal numbers. You can choose from within this list, we have hundreds of different personal phone numbers to choose from.

    Can I divert my 0845 number to a mobile number?
    Yes! you can divert or 'point' to UK Landlines, Mobiles and 180 Countries Worldwide!

    What else can my clever personal number do?

    Through your online control panel you can instantly change the Target number that they divert to, as well as configure most of the following additional features:

    Hunt group divert This allows you to enter different numbers to divert to. If the first number is busy, or if there is no answer, the second number will be tried. If the second number is busy, or if there is no answer, the third number will be tried etc. You also have the option to divert to a built-in voicemail facility if the first, second or third number is busy (or if there is no answer)

    Built-in voicemail: This is a simple but effective voicemail system that can take a message if a target number is busy or if there is no answer. Messages left in the voice mailbox are automatically emailed to an email address of your choice (configurable through the online control panel) for playback on a PC using the Windows Media player (included as standard in most versions of Windows).

    Automatic opening times: You can set different opening and closing times for your organisation for each day of the week. Calls received on your Non Geographic Number will automatically be diverted to the voicemail system out of these hours. Alternatively, out of hours calls can be diverted to a fourth target number.
